Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell, an American television chef and the former Institute of Culinary Education instructor and a TV presenter. Burrell hosts her own Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and is co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, in her Food Network series Secrets of a Restaurant Cook, reveals easy to master techniques as well as her distinctive blonde spiky locks. Chef Burrell has also worked in several of the city's most prestigious restaurant chains, delved into Italian cuisine and the traditions associated with it, and competed in Food Network Iron Chef America. When she was a kid in Upstate New York Chef Burrell was infatuated by food. After receiving an English and Communications degree at Canisius College in Buffalo NY she became interested in the world of food and restaurant management by enrolled as a student at The Culinary Institute of America. She says "I thoroughly enjoyed my time as a Culinary Institute of America student. I thoroughly enjoyed each and every day." It was difficult to master and do enough or put in the hours. Chef Burrell following her graduation from The Culinary Institute for Foreigners in Italy completed a one-year stint in Umbria at La Taverna del Lupo and Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, an Michelin-starred establishment. While in Italy she came to recognize and comprehend the principles of Italian cuisine and culture which has had a profound impact from a culinary perspective. Burrell was part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board to brighten the lives of children who face challenges. She is also a Juvenile Research Foundation Celebrity ambassador in which she promotes an awareness campaign on children with diabetes. In her role as an inspirational speaker, she goes on a tour across the United States to speak about her passion for cooking and food, as well as to talk about her profession in culinary. Through her culinary adventures, Anne has often said that I am very fortunate to share my passion within my life with other people.
