Sarah Hyland

Sarah Hyland was born to actresses Melissa D. Canaday, and Edward James Hyland in New York City. She started her career as a professional at age 4 by doing voice overs as well as commercial work. Her first film was Private Parts (1997). Her next film was The Object of My Affection (1998) and then spent time in Another World (1964) as "Rain Wolfe", a child found in the park, and fostered by Josie and Gary. Sarah would go on to collaborate with Amy Carlson ("Josie" on AW) numerous times, including Falcone (2000), Law & Order (1990) and Law & Order: Trial by Jury (2005). Sarah was cast in Jennifer Love Hewitt’s The Audrey Hepburn Story(2000) as one of the younger Audrey Hepburns. The next year, she was cast on ABC's The Wonderful World of Disney: Annie (1999), featuring Audra McDonald, Victor Garber, Kristin Chernoweth, Joe Guld's Secret ((2000) as well as Falcone ((2000)). In addition to her film and television work, Sarah studied voice, jazz, ballet, hip-hop, tap, Theatre Dance, and performed with her tap and Theater dance class at "Reel to Real" at Lincoln Center as invited performers.A born and raised in New York, Sarah spent much of her time working in film, television, and voicing many radio ads and also traveling with her father Edward James Hyland, and working at theaters across the nation. Her mother was her caregiver until she was 2 years old. of age. Then she went to public schools. Sarah was accepted in 6th year to PPAS (Professional Performing Arts School) and stayed there until she graduated in 2008 Sarah is now 18, relocated to Los Angeles, CA, where she landed as a pilot under the name "My American Family". When she was picked up, the name was changed to Modern Family (2009). Sarah is currently the "Haley Dunphy", an the oldest of the Dunphy children. Modern Family (2009) was nominated for the Emmy award for Outstanding Comedy Series.
