Alona Tal

Alona Tal, an Israeli-American actress and singer was born on Oct. 20, 1983 in Herzliya, Israel. She began her career while she was in the Israeli Defense Forces. Her acting debut was in an Israeli film in 2003. She also appeared in two Israeli television shows at the time. She tried her hand at music and recorded several songs with Subliminal who is an Israeli rapper. Tal was able to move in with her sister in New York to take a time out from her work. She collaborated with Wyclef Jean, who is a Haitian artist in the hit song "Party to Damascus". She also was able to establish herself on American television, starting by playing a recurring character in the series Veronica Mars: She originally attempted to audition for the lead role but the show's the creator Rob Thomas wrote a new character specifically for her. Tal then was able to secure regular roles in the short-lived CBS series. After his move to New York, he appeared in two television shows in Israel. Wyclef Jean wrote a song. Hebrew is her mother tongue. She was second in the role as Veronica on Veronica Mars (2004).Originally auditioned for Veronica Mars (2004) and was Rob Thomas' second choice to play the title role. Thomas loved her so much that he designed the recurring character of Meg Manning just for her. She was in the Israeli Defense Forces. Both of her parents are Jewish The father of her is a Turkish/Jewish man, and her mother is Polish/Jewish. She plays Adrian Monk's wife. She was killed in the last episode of Monk (2002).
