Bonnie Wright

Bonnie Francesca Wright, born 17 February 1991, is an English actress. She also works as a model, director, activist and actress. Her most well-known character is the role of Ginny Weasley, the Harry Potter film series's main character. Born in London, Wright portrayed the role for ten consecutive years before she was chosen to play the character in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II (2011). Wright was featured in a variety of independent films after the Harry Potter series. The films received mixed reviews. Wright made her stage debut as the main character in Peter Ustinov's The Moment of Truth at the Southwark Playhouse in 2013.Wright graduated from University of the Arts London in 2012 with an undergraduate degree in filmmaking. The following year, she founded her own production company, BonBonLumiere, and began to make short films. Her first film as a director was the coming-of-age drama Separate We Come, Separate We Go (2012) which starred David Thewlis, which was released at the Cannes Film Festival to critical applause. Wright also directed Know Thyself (2016) starring Christian Coulson and Sextant (2016). Both films explored emotions and landscapes as the main themes. Wright's trilogy Phone Calls, which was presented at Tribeca Film Festival 2017, comprised three episodes. Medusa's Ankles (2018) starring Kerry Fox, Jason Isaacs and is based on A. S. Byatt's The Matisse Stories. She has directed music videos for Scarlett Johansson and Pete Yorn. Wright is an ambassador for Greenpeace, Lumos and has been recognized for her environmental activism.
